The month in links – October’s Digital PR highlights

Christmas is on the horizon but our digital PR team isn’t slowing down. From genuinely helpful advice to spooky stories, here’s a snapshot of what we got up to in October:

Knowing what works for your skin is tricky at the best of times, let alone when you’re going through puberty, so the Beauty Pie team Maddie Davies, Isobelle Brown, and Megan Salter worked with the experts to uncover the do’s and don’ts of skincare when growing up – landing links in the likes of The Guardian!

Halloween has just been and gone, but which movie villain should you be most afraid of? Putting SportsShoes.com in the conversation, Chloe Tickner, Stephanie Finch & Anna-Lena Thees analysed horror films to calculate the stalking speed of Freddy Krueger all the way to Pennywise, revealing who could catch you the fastest…

Fancy a road trip abroad but nervous about the prospect of actually driving in another country? You’re not alone – with Scrap Car Comparison me, Abigail Bennetts, Charlotte Brown, and Anna-Lena Thees ran a global study to find which tourist destinations we’re all most nervous to drive in… and we’re still picking up coverage for it!

Talking of travel, the first impression you’ll often get of a new country is out of the plane window when you’re about to touchdown. To find where has the best ‘air appeal’, the Remitly team of Abigail Bennetts, Stephen Baker, Megan Salter, and Maddie Davies used eye-tracking data and found that Prague gives the best first impression to anyone flying in.

Plants are great. They look good. They make you feel good. But can they purify the air? Positioning Patch Plants as the experts, Stephanie Finch and Raquel Pinto. helped people to separate plant fact from fiction

While the SportsShoes team were finding out which horror villain could catch you the fastest, the SpaSeekers team of Abigail Bennetts, Charlotte Brown, and Isobelle Brown showed that all Halloween media opportunities don’t have to be scary, revealing how you can use your pumpkin leftovers to make a DIY face mask and bring the spa to you.

With so much conflicting information online, the Pour Moi team (Maddie Davies, Megan Salter, Isobelle Brown, and Stephanie Finch) created a first-of-its-kind Clean Bra Calculator – helping people to know, dependent on use, how often they should be cleaning their bras.

Be it the angel wings in LA or a front door in Notting Hill, certain locations have become landmarks simply because of Instagram, so the Premier Inn team (Charlotte Brown and Raquel Pinto) found which Insta-Landmarks are most popular with influencers and snap-happy tourists.

It’s not just about the coverage and links either, as October also saw us:

  • Get together in Brighton for pizza, some sea air & an ideation workshop
  • Welcomed Louise Parker back from maternity
  • Kept learning at events such as Roxhill Media’s Q&As in London
  • Opened applications for a Digital PR Specialist
