Accounts Payable (part time)
We’re looking for an experienced, part-time Accounts Payable to join our award winning team here at Propellernet.
Part time role: 12 hours a week split over 2-3 mornings (e.g. 3 x 4 hours or 2 x 6 hours – we can be flexible on days & exact timings). Hybrid working with the option to work from home or our office. We’d expect you to spend at least one morning a month in our Brighton office working with our Finance team.
About you:
We are looking for someone who:
- has previous experience working in a finance team, ideally in a similar role
- has previous experience with Xero account system, Excel skills and ideally working knowledge of DEXT
- has an understanding of the UK VAT system
- has the ability to work on own initiative, organise and prioritise
- has excellent attention to detail and is highly organised
- can ensuring high standards are maintained and every detail covered
- has excellent communication skills, including the ability to actively listen to others and relay information clearly
- has a proactive, positive, can-do attitude
About the role:
You’ll report into our Senior Finance Assistant, and will be responsible for financial administrative support to our Finance team to ensure the smooth running of accounts payable. You’ll be responsible for inputting key data into accounting systems, ensuring that supplier invoices the company receives meet VAT and general invoicing requirements and that the amounts owed are correct. You’ll ensure accurate and timely data input and review and prepare employee expenses. You’ll manage the timely payment of invoices and expenses to enable accurate cash flow forecasts.
The day-to-day role will include:
- Processing supplier invoices through ApprovalMax and Xero
- Preparing payment run, setting up supplier payments and sending out remittances
- Resolving supplier queries
- Processing, querying, and tracking staff expenses and setting up payments
- Assisting with general administrative duties
- Follow the direction and judgement of the senior members of the Finance team
Location: Hybrid working with at least one day per month in our Brighton office

Salary: £29k FTE (paid pro-rata in line with the agreed working hours of 12 hours per week).
